Pod Spaces

In the Solid ecosystem, Pods are data stores (i.e., where you store your data) and are located on Solid Servers.

Inrupt Pod Spaces provide the following hosted Solid Servers:

https://pod.inrupt.com (Recommended)

This hosted version of the Enterprise Solid Server (ESS) is the recommended space for creating new Pods.

  • Uses Access Control Policies (ACP) to manage access to resources stored in Solid Pods.

  • Uses a Solid OIDC Broker Service: https://broker.pod.inrupt.com.

https://pod-compat.inrupt.com

This hosted version of Enterprise Solid Server (ESS) provides compatibility if moving from existing Solid Servers that use Web Access Control (WAC). New Pod users should use https://pod.inrupt.com instead.

  • Uses Web Access Control (WAC) to manage access to resources stored in Solid Pods.

  • Uses a Solid OIDC Broker Service: https://broker.pod-compat.inrupt.com.

In addition to Inrupt Pod Spaces, Inrupt also provides the following:

This is a prototype implementation of a Solid server. Although it is a fully functional server, it provides no security or stability guarantees. New Pod users should use https://pod.inrupt.com instead.

  • Uses Web Access Control (WAC) to manage access to resources stored in Solid Pods.

  • Uses a Solid Identity Provider: https://inrupt.net.
